I got my plants at the Flower Factory. I know they still sell them because I bought another one last weekend! :) And yes, it's only available in the bluish-lavender color.

Hi Em,
Just looked at your blog from yesterday. Where did you get the perennial geranium? Is the lavender the only color available? The green plant that you show in the blog looks like parsley!! Love your tulips also. The baby yellow one is so cute!

Hi Em,
Beautiful pictures of a beautiful bird.
This is my first viewing of him--sorry I missed seeing him earlier!

I work in a pet supply store, and the flea and tick treatments are still flying out the door. It appears the fleas have not been killed off this winter either. I think we'll be talking about this mild winter for a long time!

I hope the birds know something we don't. :) I'll have to take a closer look at the goldfinches here and see if they, too, are molting early. This "winter" weather is really starting to grow on me (although Christmas just wasn't the same without a little snow), but I fear the result could be that we'll be up to our eyeballs in gypsy moths, Japanese Beetles, ticks and other fun pests this summer!

Hi Em. We have had the same winter here, very unusual. My husband has used the snowblower only once. I saw on the news last night that tundra swans have returned to Grand Bend, Ontario, about 40 minutes south of me here in Goderich, 7 weeks early! Apparently that is a record. Also, I heard cardinals singing about 3 weeks ago, more than 2 months early, and the goldfinches have started to turn back to yellow! It's really unbelievable. Winter is much more bearable this way, but Mother Nature could have a few surprises in store for us yet, so you are wise to stick with your seed schedule. Cheers!

I'm anxious to see what my forced tulips will look like next week. My pot is now in my living room--and 2 tiny sprouts are showing! They may be about the size that yours were last week (although my bulbs are buried beneath the soil!!). Will keep you informed.

We are experiencing the same thing here in southwestern Ontario. We have only had one snowfall of a few inches, and today it is 40 degrees, sunny and the grass is green. My juncos came and went, and now all I have are millions of chickadees and a few cardinals. Oh, and the dreaded squirrels. I do put seed out on a tray for them so they do not destroy the bird feeders, so they hang around. At least they give the cats something to watch instead of the birds, lol. Just want to say I enjoy coming to your website, and seeing your wonderful bird and flower pictures. They are beautiful! We have pretty much the same birds come to our feeders as you do. Last summer we had a very rare bird sighting, and our neighbour saw it as well, a blue grosbeak! He stuck around for a few days, never to be seen again. He was a beauty.

The red ones are the most devious of all. I don't have them here, but my grandma battled them for years as they attempted to turn her garage into a squirrel condo!
