The migrating birds arrived on schedule after the passage of the huge cold front last week. I haven’t seen any juncos yet, but there are White-throated Sparrows scratching like chickens all over my yard.
You’d think my fully-loaded birdfeeders or the dried-up flower seeds in my gardens would be the biggest draw to all my new visitors, but they are not. The most exciting attraction is the birdbath, and rarely do I see a bird bathing alone because so many birds are in line for a turn:
