I love to gaze at individual snowflakes. Sometimes I sit in my car and watch them drift onto my windshield. Or I go outside and let them collect on my jacket or scarf where I can examine them more closely. All the different shapes and sizes fascinate me. If you want to see how truly intricate they are, Kenneth Libbrecht has authored several amazing books with microphotographs of snowflakes.
Sometimes the snow that falls is too clumped together or too icy to make it possible to see individual crystals. Yesterday’s snow was perfect. Millions of little designs gently wafted down from the sky. I even spotted a few on my Junco friend.
