I grow quite a few heuchera (coral bells) cultivars, but the one that catches my eye more than the rest is ‘Peach Flambé.’
The leaves are supposed to emerge peach-colored and transition to a dark red as the season progresses. By fall they are the purply-red color of plums. This year my plants are skipping the peach stage and starting with red:
In the middle of summer, ‘Peach Flambé’ sends up white flowers on 16-inch stems.
Other than Daylily ‘Mauna Loa’, I can’t think of a plant that elicits more “oooohs and aaaahs” in my yard than ‘Peach Flambé’. And when the sun shines on the leaves—look out. They positively glow with rich, red color.
‘Peach Flambé’ grows 7 inches tall and prefers well-drained soil in shade or partial-sun.
