Notes: “It’s cold enough to freeze your Winnebago” out there!
Today’s Count:
- 3 Mourning Doves
- 22 Goldfinches
- 8 Juncos
- 2 Cardinals
- 4 House Sparrows
- 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches
- 1 Starling
- 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker fighting with the Starling
- 1 tiny Meadow Vole zipping out of his hole to collect seeds from under the feeder before the sun comes up
- 2 Chickadees (one “drinking” snow which must quite a rude awakening when it’s 1 degree out. I do provide a heated birdbath, Mr. Chickadee!)
- 1 Common Redpoll with the Goldfinches (I haven’t had one of these visit my yard in over 10 years!)
