Time: 11 a.m.
Conditions: 24 degrees with heavy snow and wind gusts over 30 mph causing blowing snow
Observed from: the house
Notes: Even though I went outside and brushed the snow off the windows earlier this morning, they quickly filled up again. I had to stand on a stool to take photos through the top of the only window with a clear spot. Our predicted snow totals for today have been increased to 8-14 inches. It’s hard to tell how much has fallen because the winds are tossing snow everywhere.
As if the poor birds aren’t challenged enough today, our friend Mrs. Cooper stopped by and sat in our apple tree for 20 minutes looking for a victim.
Today’s Count:
- 7 Juncos
- 2 Starlings
- 1 House Sparrow
- 2 Mourning Doves
- 2 Goldfinches
- 2 Crows
- 2 Gray Squirrel
- 1 Cooper’s Hawk
