Distinctive Dove

This is what a Mourning Dove looks like:

But last week a Mourning Dove with slightly flashier markings showed up at my feeder. Here’s the standard version of my new visitor:

And the puffed-up version:

When I first noticed the bird from the back I thought it was some sort of hawk or falcon, but then up popped its little dove head.

Other than the unusual feathers, the bird acts like a typical Mourning Dove.
