Now that I’ve had a few months to enjoy my ‘Easy Wave Red Velour’ petunias, I’m ready to render a verdict.
I am still completely in love with the color and texture of the flowers. They are yummy:
I would have to say that this cultivar isn’t as flower-heavy as the ‘Tidal Wave Cherry’ petunias I’ve grown in this barrel for the last couple of summers, but the number of flowers is still impressive during a summer that has been very hard on petunias.
I also like that the plants stayed mounded in the center and did not die out.
I tucked a few more plants in a window box planter next to some ‘Opera Blue’ petunias. Check out this bold color combination.
‘Easy Wave Red Velour’ grows 6 to 12 inches tall and spreads two to three feet. The flowers self-clean and the plants appreciate a regular dose of fertilizer.
I would happily grow this cultivar again.
