I don’t know if she’s here to stay or if she was just popping into the neighborhood to say hi, but last week a female turkey showed up in my yard. She spent 30 minutes or more eating seeds under the various feeders.
I should taken a video because it would’ve been much more entertaining, but a Mourning Dove was noticeably irritated that the turkey was taking prime feeding real estate away from him. But since a turkey is HUGE is comparison to a Mourning Dove, there wasn’t much he could do about it.
His solution? Jog in circles around the big bird—that’ll show him!
