Helo Pad

My newly-seeded grass patch has remained remarkably unscathed by critters, but it attracted a weird clientele. I wish I could’ve gotten a photograph at the height of the action.

At one point 11 Mourning Doves dropped down from the air one by one and landed in the straw circle. Several more landed just off to the right (problems with their landing gear?)

It was almost as if the circle was a giant bird landing pad.

They didn’t appear to eat the grass seed—just mostly waddled around and napped.
