Before our latest snowstorm really let loose overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, I switched out one of my platform feeders for a covered platform, so the birds would have some protection as they dined.
On Wednesday morning the snow let up, so my husband and I shoveled and used a snowblower on the driveway and sidewalks. But the second we got back inside the house another snow squall came through and dropped a quick inch of snow.
The covered platform was popular during the squall until a hungry Cooper’s Hawk showed up. Then only the bravest of birds (or most oblivious?) took a chance at visiting the birdfeeders.
