In 2017 there was a seed crop failure and last year ‘Blue Diamond’ ageratums were unavailable for purchase. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal until it was time for me to plan out my flowerbeds. A person can only plant so many orange, yellow and red annuals in the front rows of flowerbeds. I missed my reliable purple plant!
‘Blue Diamond’ is back this year, and I already have 30 little seedlings growing in my basement.
This annual grows 14 to 16 inches tall in full sun or part-shade, and the plants aren’t bothered by diseases or insects.
