I’m not sure if it is easier or harder for hawks to spot rodents now that the snow is starting to melt away.
When there’s snow cover rodents stick out like a sore thumb. But they can also burrow tunnels through the snow undetected to eat leftover seeds under the bird feeders.
A couple of hawks have been scouting the area lately. This one loves to land on the bird feeder and dare rodents or small birds to make an error in judgement.
