It’s Nesting Season!

All of the birds are singing their fools heads off right now and nesting season is in full swing.

I think we have a female cardinal building a nest in one of our arborvitaes. I sat outside for awhile and watched her fly into our mulberry which has a lot of dead twigs. She tugged and twisted and pulled until a twig broke free. Then she flew to an arborvitae and disappeared into the tight green branches. She did this over and over again. Meanwhile, the male kept watch from above singing his spring song.
