My feeders have been in the same spots in my yard for a number of years now with my peanut feeders the furthest away from the house. Last week I moved them closer to the window so I would have a better view of the nuthatches, chickadees and woodpeckers that regularly visit.
Now that the colder weather is finally here and there are fewer insects for birds to find, my feeders are becoming quite popular again. I just hope they don’t become TOO popular. I shopped for fresh seed recently and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price increases.
Thankfully the neighbors on either side of us are now also feeding the birds, so hopefully we can all help keep our feathered friends around this winter without any one of us going bankrupt.
