Flowers in November

My homegrown annuals continue to bloom into November because we still haven’t had a hard freeze.

It’s messing with my brain because in a couple of weeks I will already be ordering seeds for next year’s growing season.

I even saw a bumblebee queen flying around last Friday. Most of them are already hunkered down in winter nests.

And while I was chatting with a neighbor, a Turkey Vulture flew over us. They are usually long gone by now. In fact when I tried to submit an eBird list, I had to treat it as a rare bird for this time of year.

Honeybees are also active. They visit my thriving flowers during the warmest part of the day.

And one of my tomato plants is still hanging in there!
