Guess Who Loves Blueberries?

I always thought Northern Cardinals were primarily seed eaters. Maybe it’s because of that thick beak.

Turns out they also regularly eat fruit from shrubs like mulberry, hackberry, bayberry, dogwood and serviceberry.

But my backyard visitor likes blueberries!

Instead of throwing away wrinkly blueberries, I set them on our platform feeder and let the robins gobble them up.

But this Northern Cardinal got first dibs!
