After I mentioned that I rarely see robins in my neighborhood, one has decided to make a liar out of me by appearing in our backyard on a regular basis.
Yesterday a House Sparrow landed on the grass near the robin and began shadowing him. I assume the sparrow wanted the robin to do all the work and then he’d sneak in at the last moment and steal the prize. The robin was on to the sparrow’s little scheme and went on the attack. He chased that sparrow all around the yard:
