Winter can torture people into believing it’s never going to end, but it can’t fool the birds. The cardinals are singing loudly from the treetops even as it snows, and some feathered beasts are already starting to pair up. Yesterday I watched a male and female House Finch displaying courtship behavior. The male was feeding the female.
