I really love my Verbascum ‘Caribbean Crush’. The flowers started out salmon-rose and slowly changed to light yellow.
The flower stalk sent out two big side shoots that bloomed as well:
This is one tough plant. The flower petals hung on through 40 mph winds and 8 inches of pounding rain. I staked the stalk just because I knew bad weather was on the way, but the plant didn’t need it. The stalk was impressively sturdy.
If I had more space, I would grow several of these beauties in a clump. They would really make a bold statement in the garden.
