Wind is about the only thing I don’t have to do battle with on a regular basis here, so I’m not sure. That said, after a nasty thunderstorm I usually have to prop up the plants again. I don’t know if it’s the wind that gets them or the pounding rain. And it’s possible my plants aren’t as sturdy because they grow in partial shade.
