Mesa Salvias

I impulse-shopped a couple of annual salvias back in May when I was visiting all the garden centers.

The Salvia greggii Mesa series is drought tolerant and the plants grow 18 to 24 inches tall.

This is ‘Mesa Rose’:

And this is ‘Mesa Purple’:

Even though I sprouted and planted dozens of salvia cultivars, I’m glad I purchased these plants. The hummingbirds arrived very early this year before anything else was blooming in the garden, and they spent several weeks feeding exclusively from the Mesa salvias.
