My calendulas aren’t the only flowers breathing a sigh of relief in the chilly weather. One of my lisianthus plants sent up a gorgeous purple-blue flower this week.
This is Lisianthus ‘Mariachi Blue’:
The plant bloomed a few times during the summer, but the blazing sun faded the flowers and the color was nowhere near this spectacular.
‘Mariachi Blue’ grows 24 to 36 inches tall. I found my plant for sale at a garden center in the spring.
