WANTED!

The mosquitoes are trying to ruin what’s left of summer. They haven’t been this bad in years. I went outside for a few minutes yesterday to deadhead some zinnias and salvias so they’ll continue to bloom for the hummingbirds. Each time I got near the flowers, a cloud of mosquitoes would rise up from the plants and attack. After about 10 minutes, I was completely surrounded by the annoying little beasts.

There is a pond at the city golf course near my house so sometimes we get dragonflies. I could really use a few right now, but I haven’t seen any. They probably have more than enough to eat over there. I’m starting to hope for an early frost (followed by nice warm weather again, of course) to make it safe to go back outside again.
