We dodged a snowstorm yesterday. It stayed to the northwest and we got by with just a glazing of ice and some snow showers throughout the day. I’m thankful for the near-miss because we’ve had a storm or two every week for the last 6 weeks, but I’ll admit I was still a little crabby about more snow and ice.
As I sprinkled salt on our steep driveway so I could maneuver the garbage cart to the curb without killing myself, I heard a wonderful spring sound. Above my head in a hickory tree was a robin singing and scolding loudly as the snowflakes continued to fall. My daylight-saving-time-sleep-deprived-and-so-sick-of-winter crabby face couldn’t help but grin.
