I have a lot of annoying critters in my neighborhood, but even they have their moments. For example, I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen House Sparrows chasing and eating Japanese beetles this summer. That would be the first time in the ten years since the beetles arrived that something, ANYTHING considered them lunch. House Sparrows, you did something right for once.
And crows are noisy and sneaky and messy (did I mention noisy?), but boy are they ever good at driving the Red-tailed hawks out of the neighborhood:
