I took a break from calendulas over the last several growing seasons, but this year I’m going to add a few to my flowerbeds again.
The plants which bloom in shades of oranges, yellow and cream are incredibly easy to grow and they even tolerate partial-shade. Most of the cultivars are mid-size plants (18 to 24 inches).
My only complaint about calendulas is that the ratio of flowers to foliage isn’t all that impressive. The flowers that do bloom, however, can be gorgeous:
