I can’t decide if black petunias are cool or if they creep me out. Recently I saw ‘Ray Black’ blooming in a petunia test garden:
The color would definitely be something different in a pot or flowerbed.
Unfortunately dust and seeds from plants and trees easily show up on those dark petals. The plants have a nice mounded habit, however, and the color would blend with just about everything.
‘Black Ray’ grows 6 to 10 inches tall with a spread of 12 to 14 inches.
