I haven’t heard as many Sandhill Cranes flying overhead as I have in past years, but birders have been spotting them everywhere.
What I have seen is plenty of turkeys! In fact two weeks ago one was jogging up our street on the sidewalk like a human.
I’ve spotted pelicans, geese and swans flying over our neighborhood, and while I haven’t seen him/her yet, I did hear a Chipping Sparrow trilling away the other day.
Some juncos are still here pecking around on the ground under the feeders, but soon they will fly north to spend the breeding season in Northern Wisconsin, northern Minnesota or Canada.
