The forced hyacinths I purchased a few weeks ago were just what I needed to get me through that last (hopefully!) gasp of winter.
For some, their scent is too strong (hi, Mom!), but I love it. The whole house smelled like hyacinths for over a week, and I was in olfactory heaven.
The flowers are winding down now, and in a day or two they will be off to the compost bin.
I could try to plant them in the ground, but the chipmunks would have them dug up and eaten the same day, so there’s really no point.
