Two years ago I dug up several daylilies and filled the empty spot with some Liatris spicata plants. Last spring I added a ‘Candy Floss’ Phlox and the two looked great together. In the early fall I needed a home for my ‘Wendy House’ phlox and decided to tuck it in that area as well. When the three started blooming together a few weeks ago, I was thrilled with the colors.
‘Wendy House’ is a new mildew-resistant cultivar that grows 24 inches tall with royal purple flowers:
‘Candy Floss’ is also mildew-resistant with dark pink flowers on 20-inch plants:
When it’s time to divide them, I may just continue filling in the border with these three since they make such a stunning display.
