I planted sedum ‘Matrona’ about 5 years ago now and it has thrived on an exposed north-facing wall without struggle.
Sedums are some of my last perennials to bloom in the fall—usually in September.
‘Matrona’ has lovely rose-pink flowers that are a favorite of honeybees and bumblebees. The plants grow about 2 feet tall and are very sturdy and upright–no staking needed.
This tough sedum is hardy to USDA Zone 3.
