I usually don’t purchase or grown my own pansies because they are late spring/early summer-blooming plants and then they are done. I like things that bloom all season long. But last year a friend gave me a lovely planter full of pansies and they sure perked up me and our front stoop for several months.
This spring I impulse-purchased this little beauty at the garden center and I stuck it in a pot. I love those little ruffled petals.
I suspect, but I’m not certain that this is a Delta ‘Cool Water Mix’ pansy. I rescued it from among a bunch of picked-over 4-packs of various pansy cultivars. It was hiding in the back. I don’t always trust that the plant marker stays with its matching plant when things are picked over like that.
Whatever it is, it has gorgeous blue frilly flowers with a dark purple center, and I can’t stop taking photos of them.
