Mourning Doves are pretty easy to please. They will eat on the ground or on feeders large enough to hold them such as hopper and platform feeders.
They’ll also eat just about any type of easily available bird food including black oil and hulled sunflower, cracked corn, safflower and millet.
On sunny winter days you may find them dozing next to your house in a south-facing patch of sun.
I have a flock of Mourning Doves that likes to visit my platform feeders in the late afternoon just before sunset.
