Every time I look out the window it seems like the number of rabbits has multiplied since the last time I looked. Now there are at least 5 very large adults and 2 youngsters chowing down everything they can get their teeth on. A neighbor’s dog raided one nest (I’ll spare you the details) or there would be more of the tiny ones.
I’ve used Repels-All with some success, but after we got 3 inches of rain in about 10 days earlier this month, I forgot to reapply. The zinnias in the front of my little hummingbird garden by the porch took a direct hit:
At this stage in the growing season they should be starting to bloom and have nice full green leaves like these zinnias that are safely behind a chicken wire fence.
Thankfully the bunnies didn’t lop off the tops completely (killing the plants entirely), but it will be weeks before these little zinnias can recover their leaves and start budding.
