Phlox ‘Glamour Girl’

It’s hard to ignore ‘Glamour Girl’. This perennial phlox has beautiful hot coral-pink flowers that stand out against dark-green foliage.

These photos were taken in the evening when the late day sun intensified that almost-fluorescent color.

‘Glamour Girl’ grows about 30 inches tall in full sun or light shade. My plant has survived 2 winters so far in a flowerbed that takes the brunt of the north winter winds.

And through two summer growing seasons, ‘Glamour Girl’ has yet to show a speck of powdery mildew.

Perennial phlox prefer well-drained soil and good air circulation, and you can help avoid powdery mildew by watering at the plant base so the leaves stay dry.

This cultivar would look particularly stunning growing next to purple or lavender flowers like salvias.
