My Asiatic Lily ‘Landani’ has been showing off its blackish-red flowers for quite a number of days now. This is the darkest lily I’ve ever grown:
I said I wouldn’t grow any more morning glories until the Japanese beetle population leveled off, but I couldn’t help myself. My ‘Heavenly Blue’ plants aren’t being as bothered as much this year because they are in partial shade and the beetles prefer hanging out in the sun:
I always look forward to the interesting blooms from daylily ‘Ruby Spice’:
There will be some happy butterflies in the next few days as my Dianthus ‘Amazon Neon Rose’ plants are just starting to pop. They grow 18-36 inches tall on sturdy stalks:
Sometimes it takes a few blooms before a daylily starts to really look like itself. ‘Little Lavender Princess’ was worth the wait:
