Here’s a petunia that I gave second and third glances to while touring a test garden last month. Petunia Hurrah ‘Lavender Tie Dye’ is described by the company that created it as having “purple-lavender flowers that mature to silvery blue.” The color is almost electric and a row of them cannot be ignored.
Hurrah ‘Lavender Tie Dye’ grows 8 to 10 inches tall and 10-12 inches wide. It tolerates heat and humidity and doesn’t stretch.
My only concern is that this cultivar needs pinching and I’ve gotten spoiled over the last few years by champs like Petunia Opera Supreme ‘Pink Morn’ that I can completely ignore all summer and yet the plants never get leggy or thin.
I will probably give this petunia a shot anyway because the color is dazzling.
