You can rely on Zinnia ‘Zowie Yellow Flame’ to give you months of blooms without grief. The plant sprouts nicely from seed (even indoors) and remains healthy throughout the summer, refusing to succumb to wilt or powdery mildew.
‘Zowie Yellow Flame’ is a 2006 AAS Winner that grows about 30 inches high with bright flowers in a combination of golden-yellow, scarlet and a touch of hot pink.
I don’t have full sun anywhere in my yard so I grow ‘Zowie Yellow Flame’ in partial shade and it thrives nicely.
This zinnia really stands out next to purple flowers, or plant it with red flowers to really bring out the fiery eye.
