I had given up on seeing any Fox Sparrows this fall, and then one appeared in my yard this week with a flock of Juncos. He’s out there again today scratching for food under the cover of my arborvitaes.
Even though I’m used to seeing at least one or more a year, I’m always surprised at how beefy they are. At more than 6″, they are the biggest member of the sparrow family.
