The rabbits feasted heavily on the bottom limbs of our arborvitae hedge over winter. Some of them were stripped bare up to 2 feet from the ground. It looked horrible in late winter and early spring, but now one of my favorite shade perennials has come to the rescue.
My Corydalis lutea plants are filling in nicely and covering up the naked legs of my little trees. As a bonus they have deliciously-sweet-smelling flowers.
