‘Angelique’

Yarrows (achillea) are a wonderful addition to the perennial garden. They are tough, have a long blooming season, and attract beneficial insects to the garden. Two of the longest-blooming cultivars are mustard-yellow ‘Coronation Gold’ and pale-yellow ‘Moonshine.’

My favorite cultivar is ‘Angelique,’ with its pleasing dark-red blooms. ‘Angelique’ grows 2 feet tall on upright stems that rarely need staking. The flowers stay bright and the blooms will keep coming all summer if you deadhead the spent flowers.

My ‘Angelique’ plants grow happily next to pink Asiatic lilies and ‘Crazy Daisy’ Shasta Daisies.
