I didn’t realize that my ‘Space Wars’ daylily was fragrant until recently. I was moving around some soaker hoses when I detected a wonderful scent wafting through the garden. I had to stick my nose in quite a few different flowers until I found the right plant.
‘Space Wars’ blooms later in the daylily season. It sends up 28-inch scapes with 7-inch pinkish-mauve flowers and a darker eye:
I’ve fallen in love with ‘Huckleberry Candy’. My plant bloomed for almost 6 weeks this summer. The deliciously-scented flowers are cream-colored with a bluish-purple eye. ‘Huckleberry Candy’ grows 20 inches tall with 4-inch flowers:
