Late in the summer I purchased two dozen new daylily cultivars. I definitely didn’t have room for that many plants, so I became a victim of the domino effect. Two days later my wrists and back ached from digging, dividing or moving close to 100 daylilies. I never meant to make such broad changes to my flowerbeds. Things just got a little out of hand.
On Day One of the daylily massacre I took copious notes, but by Day Two I just wanted to stop digging so I could take a nap. What happened on Day 2 stayed on Day 2 because I was too exhausted to record anything.
As a result of all this good fun, I fear I may spend a great deal of next year’s growing season scratching my head and looking baffled.
