My third pot of forced tulips is now blooming. The color of Triumph tulip ‘Gavota’ is difficult to describe:
I purchased the bulbs from John Scheepers, and they describe the flowers as “rich, chestnut-maroon with a thick aurora-yellow edge.” Let’s go with that…
‘Gavota’ grows 16 to 18 inches tall. If I stick my nose in them, I do detect a slight fragrance. I like the coppery glow that’s caused by the combination of the two colors. It’s different than most colors you see in the garden.
