Swiss Chard ‘Bright Lights’ is not only edible, but also makes a lovely showy ornamental. ‘Bright Lights’ grows 12-16 inches tall with shiny green leaves and stems in bold colors like gold, red, pink, orange and purple:

Annual coleus ‘Wasabi’ grows 18 to 30 inches tall with bright, chartreuse-colored leaves. The plants are useful for adding some zing to shady locations:
