I’m looking forward to seeing the first blooms from two new daylilies I bought late last summer. Pink daylilies don’t thrill me, but ‘Stolen Treasure’ (pictured below) is a fetching pink bitone with giant 6.5-inch flowers that I found irresistible.
‘Stolen Treasure’ grows 26 inches tall and is an early-to-midseason bloomer.
The official description for ‘Stargate Portal’ is “medium-red purple with stunning blue-lavender watermark outlined in magenta.” My photo (below) doesn’t do the plant justice, but in my defense it was taken at a daylily farm at high noon on a very hot windy day. It will be interesting to see what the blooms look like in my partial-shade garden.
‘Stargate Portal’ is a tall cultivar. It grows 40 inches with 5.5″ fragrant blooms and is a mid-to-late-season bloomer.
