I didn’t see a lot of goldfinches over the winter. I think it was because I had such a huge flock of piggy little Pine Siskins overwhelming the Nyger feeders.
The Pine Siskins have finally moved on and the goldfinches have returned. The males’ feathers have really brightened up in just the last week. With snow still in our forecast the little yellow birds give me hope that someone thinks spring will eventually be here to stay.
