The plants in my garden are packed pretty tight, but the ravaging rabbits did enough damage that I had a few holes to fill late in the season.
I already grow several hundred daylilies, so they wouldn’t be my first choice for such prime real estate, but after battling the rodents for several months, I was weary and just wanted to plant something I knew the rabbits were not the slightest bit interested in.
Our daylily society has a sale in mid-August each year and there are hundreds of beautiful cultivars to choose from. I was only going to buy a handful of plants, but that never works out, does it? I came home with 15 new (to me) cultivars including this one, ‘Garden Symphony’:
Hopefully my new charges will be able to get established before winter arrives. Our crazy wet spring has turned into a moderate drought, but so far all the plants have sent up fresh green shoots.
