Astilbe ‘Younique Cerise’

Astilbe ‘Youniqe Cerise’ knows how to liven up a shade garden.

These perennial plants have fuzzy, neon-pink flowers that appear on 16-inch stems. Astilbes prefer moist, rich soil and grow best in light sun to full shade. If they do receive sun during the day, be sure to keep them well-watered.

Most of my astilbes bloom in late June through July, but ‘Younique Cerise’ starts blooming just as most of my other astilbes are finishing up for the season.

Like other astilbes this cultivar is not prone to any diseases, and while Japanese beetles occasionally cling to the flowers, they don’t seem to do any damage.

‘Younique Cerise’ is hardy in Zones 3-8.
